I sat on the fuzzy couch comfortably. It felt like a living room, not a commercial lodge. That is what it is, really. Home base for super exclusive ski clubs. Each of these places has its own vibe to attract rich people.
Shy celebrities like big log homes at Yellowstone Club in Montana. That club is growing, showing high demand. Moms from Westchester drive fancy vans there. They head to Hermitage Club in Vermont. Any morning in Skylodge, you might meet someone. Maybe the Blue Bottle Coffee CEO is there. Founders of Wired magazine have a place. Adds to the relaxed, smart vibe always. Even Trump’s former ambassador reported neighbors. And Reed Hastings himself, Netflix founder, snowboards too.
He bought Mountain 2023, perhaps. Took it out of the big debt problem. Just two months after leaving the company he started. Hastings explained why he invested. Came after Vail bought his home mountain, Park City. That buyout always brought major changes. Put in lifts, got super crowded, he said.

Powder Haven feels intentionally simple and calm. No guards or check-in desk are present in the lobby. Staff knows your name and helps right away always. They offer espresso fast, before asking you at the cafe. It’s not like a standard busy lodge building. It is more like someone’s nice home you always visit. Neighbors are supposed to foster community feeling together.
People at Powder Haven stay low-key, not showy. Nothing shouts out their super-rich location ever. Keeping things simple is part of the club’s culture they follow.
