Ingredients

Main
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 squares graham crackers broken into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons miniature marshmallows

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer
  • 1 Sharp Knife
  • 1 Cutting Board
  • 1 Spoon
  • 1 Aluminum Foil (optional, for easier cleanup)

Method

  1. Gather all ingredients and preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Carefully slice each banana lengthwise through the peel, ensuring not to cut all the way through, creating a "boat" shape.
  3. Gently open the banana to create a cavity for the fillings.
  4. Evenly distribute the broken graham cracker pieces into the banana cavities.
  5. Next, sprinkle the semisweet chocolate chips over the graham crackers.
  6. Top with the miniature marshmallows, ensuring they are somewhat spread out to melt evenly.
  7. Carefully place the prepared banana boats into the air fryer basket; you may line the basket with aluminum foil for easier cleanup.
  8. Air fry for 5-7 minutes, or until the marshmallows are golden brown and puffed, and the chocolate is melted and gooey. Monitor closely to prevent burning.
  9. Once cooked, carefully remove the banana boats from the air fryer.
  10. Serve immediately with a spoon, as they will be hot and gloriously gooey.

Notes

For optimal results, select bananas that are ripe but still firm enough to hold their shape during cooking; overly ripe ones will become too mushy. To elevate the flavor, consider adding a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt before cooking, as it beautifully contrasts the sweetness. A sprinkle of cinnamon could also introduce a warm spice note. Watch closely during air frying, as marshmallows can burn quickly. Aim for a golden-brown, not charred, finish. For an even crispier graham cracker texture, you could toast them lightly in the air fryer for a minute before assembling. Serve immediately for the best molten chocolate and gooey marshmallow experience.
