Ingredients

Main
  • * 1/2 cup milk
  • * 1/2 cup international delight caramel macchiato
  • * 1/4 cup strong coffee
  • * 1 teaspoon vanilla syrup {found in the coffee aisle}
  • * 1 tablespoon caramel ice cream topping
  • * ice

Equipment

  • 2 Serving Glasses
  • 1 Liquid Measuring Cup
  • 1 Measuring Spoons
  • 1 Stirring Spoon

Method

  1. Ensure your strong coffee is brewed and thoroughly cooled for optimal flavor and to prevent dilution.
  2. Take your serving glasses and generously drizzle the caramel ice cream topping along the inside walls for an attractive presentation.
  3. Fill the prepared glasses with ice cubes to your desired level.
  4. In a separate measuring cup or small pitcher, combine the milk, International Delight Caramel Macchiato, and vanilla syrup. Stir gently until well mixed.
  5. Carefully pour the combined milk and creamer mixture over the ice in each glass, filling them about two-thirds full.
  6. Slowly pour the cooled strong coffee over the top of the milk layer. For a more defined layer, pour over the back of a spoon held just above the liquid surface.
  7. Serve immediately, offering a stirring spoon for those who prefer to blend the layers before enjoying.

Notes

For a truly excellent iced macchiato, ensure your strong coffee is brewed and then thoroughly chilled beforehand; hot coffee will quickly melt the ice and dilute your drink. To achieve the characteristic layered look, gently pour the coffee over the back of a spoon held just above the milk layer. For enhanced flavor and presentation, warm the caramel topping slightly before drizzling to make it more pliable and visually appealing. Adjust the amount of vanilla syrup or caramel topping to suit your preferred level of sweetness. Consider using a good quality, dark roast coffee for a more robust base.
