Ingredients

Main
  • 3 tablespoons canned pumpkin
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla-flavored syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 ounces espresso 1-2 shots

Equipment

  • 1 Espresso Machine Or method for brewing strong coffee
  • 1 Small Saucepan For heating milk
  • 1 Whisk For combining ingredients and frothing milk
  • 1 Measuring Spoons and Cups
  • 1 Serving Mug

Method

  1. Brew 1-2 shots (3 ounces) of strong espresso and set aside.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the canned pumpkin, vanilla-flavored syrup, and pumpkin pie spice.
  3. Add the milk to the saucepan with the pumpkin mixture.
  4. Heat the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring constantly with a whisk, until it is hot and steaming but not boiling.
  5. Continue whisking vigorously to create a light foam on top, or use a milk frother if available.
  6. Pour the hot pumpkin-spiced milk into your serving mug.
  7. Carefully add the brewed espresso to the mug.
  8. Stir gently to combine all ingredients.
  9. Optionally, top with whipped cream and an additional sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Notes

For optimal flavor, use freshly brewed, strong espresso. Avoid scalding the milk; gently heat it until steaming, then whisk vigorously to create a nice froth. If you have a milk frother, this is the ideal tool. Adjust the amount of vanilla syrup to your preferred sweetness level. A dash of whipped cream and an extra sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice on top will elevate the presentation and add a delightful textural contrast.
